Discussed all personal details first with all my requirements, for Lloyd to then Inform me of his charges afterwards and that he was pushing me to get his T&C's signed so he can get started, not the correct way to go about doing business surely open and transparency should be a key factor here, as I've spoken many other brokers afterwards to find this mail s what they do first discuss whether it's FREE or if there's a fee involved not impressed, then I emailed him to say I won't be going with his service after reading his terms, and not one acknowledgement back, something doesn't sit right with me on this attitude

Hi David, I am so sorry you have felt the need to provide such a poor review of my services after our initial telephone conversation.
I remember our chat very well indeed and I thought we had got on famously, discussing a variety of topics around the central mortgage enquiry. Things like size of deposit, interest only versus capital and repayment and more specific criteria, which I won't go into now to keep things confidential. Suffice to say that lenders would have been limited.
I emailed you straight after the call with details of what information I would need from you in order to progress to obtaining an agreement in principle. This email included details of my broker fees and an explanation that those fees were NOT payable at this stage, ONLY if and when you decided to work with me. The email also explained the need for the terms of business to be actioned to give me permission to move forward with your enquiry. If you thought this was me "pushing you" to get T & C's actioned, then you were mistaken.
Later the same day, after speaking to several lenders, I emailed you once again to keep you updated with how things were going and a reminder to action the terms. It was only then that you emailed me back to say that you were going to use another broker who provided a free service and you thanked me for my time.
I have been an adviser for 26 years and for it to be suggested that "something didn't sit right" or that I wasn't being open and transparent, is just not fair. I couldn't have been more open and transparent. I put in writing what the broker fees were. I explained that they were not payable now and only payable if you decided to go ahead with me. And by the way, deciding to use another broker is 100% absolutely fine.
I genuinely hope you manage to secure the mortgage deal you want and wish you all the best, but I felt the need to put things into perspective.

My partner and I were looking to purchase our first home and were put in touch with Lloyd via a family member.
How has Lloyd Richards helped you?
Lloyd was a great help, explaining everything in simple terms and running numerous calculations when things needed to be changed. We had 3 properties fall through and Lloyd was always there with help and advice.
He also talked us through things like income protection that we hadn’t even thought of.
Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?
Yes, even though it took longer than we had planned, thanks to Lloyds hard work and help we moved into our first home at the end of February 2023
