The majority of our projects are for developers and private clients in London, and we regularly work with constrained sites and complex planning situations. We enjoy seeking out the most beneficial solution for the site, and crafting comfortable, durable buildings, that delight and function well.
In parallel to design work, we carry out specialist research projects into the architectural history of housing and residential planning policy. The practice acted as lead author of the Mayor of London's Housing Design Guide for the Greater London Authority.
Emily’s past experience has ranged from the design of new build houses, residential and commercial interiors and the refurbishment of listed buildings, to research and policy writing on housing and urbanism.
Emily studied at the University of Cambridge, MIT, London Metropolitan University and the Architectural Association. Before establishing her own practice, she worked in the offices of Caruso St John Architects and Witherford Watson Mann, and as an urban designer in the GLA’s Architecture and Urbanism Unit.
She has worked as an independent writer and researcher for clients including the London Development Agency and the British Council, and she has held teaching positions at the University of Cambridge, the London School of Economics and London Metropolitan University.
